Taylor Swift’s best pal Karlie Kloss is returning to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway for the first time in two years.
The model parted ways with the lingerie company in 2015, just two years after earning her Angel wings, but she’s planning a comeback at this year’s event in Shanghai, China in November.
Confirming the news in an
Karlie shared a photo of herself from 2014 and captioned it, “See you in Shanghai.”
Kloss hasn’t been idle during her time away from the Victoria’s Secret runway - she studied at New York University, where she was accepted into the Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
Karlie will join sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid on the catwalk in China, as well as Victoria’s Secret regulars Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, and Lily Aldridge, and newcomers Grace Bol, Roosmarijn de Kok, Alexina Graham, Frida Aasen, Aiden Curtis, Victoria Lee, Nadine Leopold, Vanessa Moody, Gizele Oliveira, and Bruna Lirio.
Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner reportedly won’t walk in the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, having signed a deal with the brand’s rival La Perla instead.
The 21-year-old model strutted her stuff in the 2015 and 2016 shows, stating at the time that she had fulfilled a lifelong dream by doing so. The models for this year’s runway presentation are currently being confirmed, with sources close to the reality star-turned-catwalk beauty telling TMZ.com that Kendall’s name won’t be on that list.
According to the insider, Kendall had already agreed to become the face and body of lingerie label La Perla when auditions for the 2017 show began. The contract apparently has a non-compete clause in it, meaning that any work for Victoria’s Secret would be a direct violation.
However, fans can be safe in the knowledge that there will still be a bevy of beauties on the runway in Shanghai, China, for the show this November.
Speaking ahead of the 2015 fashion show, Kendall told PopSugar: “Honestly, the show is such a dream come true. So walking in it is a really big deal for me. I’m extremely excited. I just hope I don’t cry.”
Following the runway presentation, Kendall’s half-sister Kim Kardashian posted a gushing message of pride on Instagram.
“My angel!!!!! you started modelling because this show was your dream & I am such a proud sister just knowing you never gave up & made all of your dream a reality!” she exclaimed.
